Ryders of Warrington About Us
It
all began in the November of 1990 with acquisition of the then derelict premises on
Athlone Road. Over the next ten months, Frank and his son Stephen Ryder rebuilt the
site, often working late into the night and seven days a week.
This is when Hyundai, a relatively unknown car company, approached them as they wanted to build a presence in Warrington themselves and so offered the dealership to Mr. Ryder. In only a matter of a few weeks Ryders were selling cars such as the 'Pony', 'Stellar' and 'S Coupé'.
This put Ryders and Hyundai on the local map, but it
was the launch of the 'Accent' in 1994 and the 'Coupé' in 1996 that really propelled Hyundai forward.
Sales took off and as a knock on effect the used car sales became an important aspect of the business and so the need for an after sales department was also facilitated.
It was not long before a Body and Paint shop was added, but a disastrous fire in 1999 made it necessary for a re-build.
An opportunity arose to buy additional land and premises adjoining the existing site,
so a larger car park and extra, improved storage facilities were added.
This provided the basis for the long-term future for Ryders of Warrington, a purpose built MOT station was built, again by the hands of Stephen Ryder and his staff, plus an additional showroom started to take shape.
In 2005 we began to look for an additional franchise to complement Hyundai and following the successful negotiations, Ryders were approved by Proton to be their representatives for Warrington in the February of 2006.
Ryders of Warrington are still the professional family business offering good old-fashioned value for money.
